The Greene County Fine Arts Hall of Fame will grow by five members with the induction ceremony Saturday, March 7, at 4:30 pm in the Greene County High School auditorium. The ceremony will be preceded by a community reception in the high school commons area starting at 4 pm. All are welcome.
New inductees include D. Douglas Miller, Class of 1959, instrumental music; Kathy Cuddy, Class of 1971, vocal music; Marty Aldrich, Class of 1976, instrumental music; Peter Thompson, Class of 1997, instrumental music; and Michael Kennedy, Class of 2017, vocal music.
Miller was a four-time All State musician on French horn and went on to become a professor of music at Penn State University. Cuddy went on to become a commercial studio artist, composer and producer. Aldrich was a public school band director in Iowa for 39 years, many of them in Clarinda. Thompson was a three-time All State musician, an All-State Jazz selection, and taught middle school band for many years. Kennedy won many accolades as a vocalist and went on to study musical theatre in New York. He is well-remembered for his role as Donkey in the musical “Shrek” in high school.
